Chasing Rainbows
These images and their rainbows were created as light passed through vintage chandelier prisms hanging in an eastern facing window.
A prism refracts light because the colors contained in the light travel at different speeds. Passing from air through the prism, the light gets “bent” and the colors are separated and create a rainbow of colors.
Each image was captured in the moment when the sun changed position and, therefore, where the rainbows fell also changed position. No filters were used with these images.
